Inter Miami won 2-1 on the field of New England Revolution on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Foxborough, during the MLS regular season.

Inter Miami won 2-1 on the field of New England Revolution on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Foxborough, during the MLS regular season. Lionel Messi scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute and secured the Floridian club’s qualification for the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

The two teams had gone into the locker rooms with a goalless score before Dániel Gazdag gave New England the lead in the 53rd minute. Miami responded sixteen minutes later following a lofted ball from Telasco Segovia into the box. Messi headed the ball to Germán Berterame, who equalized with a header.

The match turned seven minutes from the end. Messi beat three defenders near the box, combined with Segovia, then finished with a low shot that fooled goalkeeper Matt Turner. This goal gave the visitors the victory despite a second half that was largely favorable to New England players.

Miami surpasses New England in the Eastern Conference

Thanks to this victory, Inter Miami reaches 59 points after 33 matches and surpasses New England, which has 58 points, in the Eastern Conference. The win also guarantees them a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Messi now has a total of 26 goals in MLS this season and remains at the top of the Golden Boot race.
